A learner driver has aced his driving test with no faults at all. Jamie Waters, who is 17 and from Skegness, had his first driving test last friday. Because of the driving lessons he took, he was able to pass the driving test without any minor or major faults.
His driving instructor proclaimed: “”It is quite an achievement and I have never had a driver pass with no faults before in the 10 years I have been instructing in the town. It is clearly above average to have no faults and Jamie was so excited and quite proud of himself.”
It goes without saying, he could not have passed his driving test without the years of experience his driving instructor passed onto him. It’s important when we begin to learn to drive that we’re instructed by someone who understands the rules of the roads and can assist you in developing healthy driving habits that you can use for life. While it’s great to drive with mum and dad, taking driving lessons from a driving school should form a part of your driving education.

Please stop focusing on the driving test as the only measure of a good instructor. The driving test can be passed with the minimum of driving skills. I am a driving instructor and regularly have people pass the test with perfect scores. While I believe I am passing on good information to the learners it is wrong to give the impression that passing the test makes them a good driver. It is only when people realise that the test only measures the very basic driving skills that we can start working on improving the quality and attitude of our drivers. This in turn will necessarily improve the road toll
